Round House

This book is incredible and this book is so hard to read. The writing sucks you in so intensely that it feels jarring to stop reading and re-enter reality. Erdrich is so talented, and this is one of my favorites of hers.

If you're interested in character or timeline consistency, read The Plague of Doves first, then this, then LaRose.

 An Ojibway boy's world is shaken when his mother is violently raped in a ritual place on land that has tangled legal status. Excellent novel.
