"In 2015, the "Angels" have returned, and Shinji Ikari, a fourteen-year-old child of the new Earth, is forced by his father Gendo--commander of the secret organization NERV--to pilot the monstrous biomechanical weapon called "Evangelion" to match the Angels' fearsome power. As a disembodied Shinji drifts in visions, merged with the esoteric fluids of the Evangelion, his father's long-serving lieutenant, Fuyutsuki, is kidnapped for interrogation by SEELE--in German, the "Soul"--The council of superiors whom NERV has been double-crossing for some time now ..."-- P. Iโm very happy this manga was able to realize Annoโs original vision to have Toji killed off. Makes for a much more impactful narrative
Art is still fantastic BUT Shinji has been replaced by a lookalike named Shaun. This is not the same character in the show. Shaun is a lot more outspoken, quippy, and outright petulant at times. Heโs annoying and I donโt enjoy him, and I really hope people donโt read this first before watching the actual show, because what ab awful first impression
Art is gorgeous and apart from one odd extra bit of dialogue from Misato, the story itself is unchanged so far.
Series read. Never finished the full run before. Just an incredible work, in both mediums.
