Yale historian of Eastern Europe notes 20 lessons to learn from his study of totalitrian regimes for today. Written in 2017, it hits a bit harder in 2025. Reading it today for no particular reason.

Verdict: Snyder comes off as very self-assured, which may turn off some people. But the lessons are timely and still worth learning.
