Latest read: “The Highly Sensitive Person in Love” by Elaine Aron on #libby
I think this really hit close to home for me. Less practical advice for how to live and adapt in relationships if you’re a “highly sensitive person”. There was also some interesting discussion on gender roles and sensitivity and how a “highly sensitive male” (HSM) feels less than manly in our culture and …. Yeah i have to think about that a lot and my ideas around my own gender and transitioning.

Finished #scifi #audiobook Waypoint Kangaroo by Curtis C. Chen. A fun space whodunit with lots of action & twists surrounding a secret agent with a superpower -- the only known person with any superpower, in fact -- that lets him open a "pocket" into a void where he can store things that secret agents might like to stash & have handy. When his agency has a surprise audit, his boss gets him out of the action by sending him on a vacation cruise to Mars. But space shenanigans occur, of course. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ #bookstodon
I’ve just finished reading a book called “Oracle” by Thomas Olde Hevelt, he is a Dutch author, I really enjoyed reading his previous books, I’ve read all of them and I have to say that “Oracle” is another great book and I don’t regret reading it. I really enjoyed it. Now I’m reading something different. It’s a book written by a Japanese author called. Opening “We will prescribe you a cat” by Sho Ishida. I was so curious about this book so I’ve just started reading, so I can’t say anything about it. It’s well narrated, which is good. Have a wonderful day. #Reading #Books #Blind #Audiobook
Finished #audiobook The Patriarchs: The Origins of Inequality by Angela Saini. This #nonfiction book covers some of the same prehistorical ground as The Dawn of Everything then goes into more modern accounts of patriarchy, its effects, and some cases of its rejection to varying extents. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ #bookstodon
No dobrze, dwie części za mną.

There’s an ARKHANGELSK audiobook!
Warning: This is…kinda a promo post. Because I have something to promote, this time somewhat unexpectedly:
Arkhangelsk is going to be released on audiobook on June 10!
Podium Entertainment produced it, and I have to say I’m really pleased. Both readers are marvelous in different ways, and handle the characters beautifully. (It’s been years since I’ve listened to a new audiobook – they are so good now!)
It’s Audible-only, which means (I think?) exclusively at Amazon. Should be up for preorder in all the English-language Amazon stores. For now, have a listen to the sample at Podium’s site. That’s Lisa Cordileone, reading the beginning of Chapter 1. (Kinda wish you could all hear her read Rolf’s trial, and then hear Ivory Tiffin read the aftermath, but you’ll have to grab a copy for that. :))
When I say I didn’t expect to be promoting this, I …

When I say I didn’t expect to be promoting this, I mean the timing. I contracted with them in November, and although they told me they had a pretty efficient timeline, I had no idea it would go this fast. So now I have two releases in June. An embarrassment of riches. 🙂
Anyway. I don’t listen to many audiobooks, but I did enjoy listening to this. It was really odd hearing someone else read my words aloud. It was also wonderful.
I'm quite annoyed that I'm not an #audiobook type. I just don't listen to them when they are played!
When I hear them while walking, my brain totally drifts off in the environment and when I hear them on the couch, my fingers fiddle with my phone automatically.
I don't have the same problem with podcasts.
Maybe it's because of the even, sometimes monotonous reading aloud!? No idea. First world problems, i know.
My book group read In the Blink of an Eye, 2023, by Jo Callaghan and it proved to be very popular! I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would, given that it’s about an AI police detective. The setup was scarily plausible and the story had us thoroughly debating the issues! Here’s a few thoughts on it #bookstodon #BookReview #audiobook @bookstodon

I love you, Libby, but when all the non-fiction holds come in at once, it can be a little bit too much of a racism-climate change double-decker burger.
So I’m going to biff off to Libro and read this supernatural cozy mystery I got on sale. I loved the author’s weird 2nd-world Victorian fantasies, so I have high hopes!
Oh, look! An audiobook! #sff #WritingCommunity #audiobook

Actor Kelsey Grammer lovingly wrote a book about his sister, who was brutally raped and murdered 50 years ago. His reflections and the fact that he hasn't found closure made for a compelling listen. Review--> #Bookthreads #Booksky #BookBlogger #Karen #HarperCollins #Audiobook #ARCReview #BookReview
