The Land of trilogy by Diana Wynne Jones is on sale as an omnibus eBook.
I love these books. I like the imperfect protagonists, I like the slightly sideways approaches to some things. I’m not entirely wild about the forced orientalist approach in but much of the rest makes up for it (for me, at least).
This starts with but it is possible that is my favourite.

More random prompt rendering. Well, it was supposed to be a random mage, but I spent a *lot* of time in books as a kid, and he seems to have somehow become Howl. In my defense, that's a very Howl thing to do.

Seem to be getting about one of these done a week. Huh. Fingers crossed this'll trick my brain into play with comic-related stuff again sometime soon....
