Toasting the Professor

As in years past, January 3rd is a special evening. Don and I joined other J.R.R. Tolkien fans from around the world in raising a glass to toast the birthday of this much loved author, J.R.R. Tolkien, at precisely 21:00 (9:00pm) local time. I have chosen a special combination of cranberry juice and soda for the occasion.

The toast is simply “The Professor”.

Why is it that every Christmas I am suddenly in the mood to read a classic #book? I've had this deluxe illustrated edition of #TheHobbit for a while. I decided to take it off the shelf and out of its slipcase for the first time. I first read this in the early 2000s and haven't read it since. A re-read is due!
