Partially Alive Zombies Public

Created and curated by lindwurmkai

I prefer the "rage virus" type of zombie to the classic "walking dead" type. Even better is a well-done mix of both - if you've read the Newsflesh trilogy, you know what I'm talking about. Slow, shambling, some of them dead, but some could potentially still be cured.

This is where I'll be collecting books that fit the theme even remotely, as long as the source of zombification is some kind of infection rather than necromancy. No offense to necromancy enjoyers!

First books of series only.

A seamless blend of old and new zombie tropes. It's a virus, but it also makes you get back up after you die. The zombies are almost as fast as regular humans at first (unless heavily injured), but degrade over time. Minus points for bland, inaccurate portrayal of mental illness in later books.

Zombies in space! Well, most of them are back on Earth, actually. More of a space opera that happens to have zombies in it, but the origins of the virus and why it's only been partially cured so far are a major part of the main plot in all three books. Super compelling despite the humorous tone.

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr. Caldwell calls her "our little genius."

Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell …

A fungal take on the trope. Not my favourite portrayal of zombies, but absolutely a great book.
