The list is actually 90, but my "impulse reads" will constitute the other 10 over time. By the time the end of 2026 comes up, hopefully this list will be down to zero books.
I've made other lists in my boredom and my need to get as much as possible there (and read older stuff first) has hindered my efforts. I chose to make every 10th book an "impulse read", a treat so that I get through the books I promised to read first before going to something I just HAD to read sooner than expected.
Otherwise I'll have books on my shelves another decade or so that I just "keep putting off reading". Some books I don't remember why I got them; others I thumbed through for research but never read the whole things. Now is the time to read them and keep them or play catch-and-release …
