A conflation of people - white, black and Indian, free, slave and indentured, English, Dutch, Portuguese, African and American, male and female - thrown together in late 17th century rural New York. Mostly it dealt with the women of this group, each one's backstory, how they came to join the household and built a community with each other, and then how it all fell apart.
