Prince: The Beautiful Ones (2019, Spiegel & Grau) 4 stars

Review of 'The Beautiful Ones' on 'Goodreads'

5 stars

An amazing compendium of notes, photos, and the barest hint of what could have been. While Dan Piepenbring does a fantastic job with the initial narrative explaining the genesis of the memoir, and a truly impressive job deciphering Prince's handwritten notes, I am left wishing the man himself had been around to finish the job. It may have been less informative, considering Prince's legacy of shrouding himself in non-answers. Or, it may have been even more impressively deep.

Regardless of what might have been, what we are left with is still an awesome piece of the Prince legacy. Who knew his nickname was Skipper?
