I read this in Danish years ago. Have no attempted it in English as well (hurray Project Gutenberg, free (and absolutely completely legal) e-copies of the out-of-copyright classics!).

I remember NOW that I found Austen difficult to read in Danish. She does not become less difficult to read in English. There were a sentence here and there that I just couldn't make heads or tails of and so showed them to (English) Husband. He couldn't always work them out either... One in particular I stared at for so long, trying to decipher it that the Kindle went to screensaver! O.o After reading for a while I got more used to it and it flowed a little easier, though. I think it has to do with what one expects to see.

So it's slow going, me reading this. It took me about 2½ months.

That said, though, it's not going to stop me from the rest of her books. They ARE classics and I DO like the stories. And as they're absolutely legal and free, I'm going to take advantage.

This is more a review of my reading experience rather than the actual book, isn't it...?
