I'm really not sure what to think of this. There was potential here and some strong points about the nature of books and stories, but overall it kind of fell flat. I think if it were longer, more fleshed out, and really used that space to explore why stories last through the ages and what we get out of books, I would enjoy it a lot more. There's only so much depth you can put into such a slim volume, especially when the seven chapters are connected by only the thinnest of threads.
