Dark Lover was recommended by two friends, and as I'm still looking for something similar to the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh (group of diverse people with changing POVs, paranormal romance/fantasy, strong female characters), I thought I'd try it.
I found the overall idea generally not too bad, but I had some problems with the specifics. First of all Beth, the female protagonist, who is a virgin (or at least very chaste) before meeting chief vampire ( because of course she is), and to whom the rules of being a vampire don't apply (because of course they don't). Luckily she's not a total damsel in distress but can fend for herself if need be. The "we've met only yesterday, but let's get married" thing is almost not worth mentioning it (you can always get a divorce later, after all).
There was a lot going on in the novel which I found a bit unconnected (I thought the story was over three times over the course of the narration, only to find that there was still a lot of audiobook left), but I hope that's going to get better in the next book, when the world is somewhat established.
