Review of 'Daredevil Volume 1\r\n \r\n Daredevil Unnumbered' on 'Goodreads'

An exceptionally well crafted superhero comic. I picked this up because an issue took the single-issue Eisner Award last week. Mark Waid writes a good Matt Murdock; he's a bit lighter in tone than the Frank Miller "doomed ronin" that everyone remembers, and that's a welcome change. But it's Paolo Rivera's art that you'll remember. Rivera uses the page to portray the blind hero's world better than anyone I've ever seen. Look at that cover; instead of the tired "concentric rings" shorthand for DD's radar, he's drawn the New York streetscape with sound. Surprises such as that one pepper the book. It's a quick read, but one that sticks.
