Good execution of unreliable narrator. This book threw me for a loop several times. Overall it wasn't as enjoyable as some other thrillers because I didn't particularly like the characters, but it was very exciting nonetheless.

Good, creepy, a little predictable

Somewhat predictable. I mean if one of your characters has face blindness and there are two wives..... I feel like I guessed a fair number of the plot twists on this one. That said it was still a very atmospheric read and very spooky so even though it wasn't a total surprise it was still an enjoyable read.
Comfort reading, nothing special

Watch Agatha muddle through her life and be a busybody while you laugh at her and the characters and eat popcorn on the sidelines. It's not gonna win any literary awards or anything but it's the perfect read if you want the book equivalent of a soap opera. This is definitely not the best in the series.

Noir mystery set in Harlem

Really enjoyed this book. It wasn't the best mystery I've ever read but it's a good start from a new author and I actually really loved the characters. They're a little caricaturish but it works with the noir theme. I'll read the next books in the series when my library gets them in!

Great premise, good execution
4 stars
This is a really original book, with an awesome premise. The constant re-discovering of the story as the main character moves through time is super fun to read and also clearly involved a lot of craft to set up. As a mother myself the main character resonated with me while not feeling overdone.
Bilbo Haggins reviewed Why Didn't They Ask Evans? by Agatha Christie
Not Christie's strongest, but ok

This one did not stand up as well to the test of time as many other classics. The characters are pretty funny though, in a weird British way. Plenty of twists and turns that keep you guessing at the ending. Overall an enjoyable but not an exceptional read.
