The plot is basically ok, but the characters, jesus the characters.
The MC is acts like a kid thinks people lead. He starts fights, muders people, and acts high and mighty.
Everyone younger than him acts like a young child, everyone older than him who is a man acts like a gruff army steriotype, every man he doesn't like is an abusive coward who is both too strong and incredibly weak, every woman cries all the time and loves kids.
The author really needs a sensitivity reader, or fuck, just to write the characters as complete people.
The thing that made me give up was when the MC meets a group of native americans on a reservation and takes their land, kills their people, and is treated like he saved them.
I hate it.
