This is a wonderfully dark and visceral book, that shows an embyonic Mr King about to embark on his amazing career. Although brief, Carrie nods its head in the direction of 'Salem's Lot, It and Needfull things. If you've only seen Brian De Palma's movie, I'd suggest reading the original. It'll only take you a day.
