Um, oh. I think the author has gotten her characters confused. She's accidentally written the main character as the sexy detective Mary Sue and not the sexy former detective Mary Sue. Did you want to know what the characters from the last 8 books look like, even though they've been exhaustively described in the last 8 books? The author thinks you do. Give it two chapters and we'll go over it again. And again. Hoo boy.

Ain't gonna lie, I'm in this series for the gratuitous pornography, so I really don't want to read about a fairy sex princess trying to balance her cheque book. And all the babies. Magical as they may be, there is nothing sexful about babies all over the place. Save yourself the trouble and forget this late and half-arsed addition to the series even exists.
