Review of "Jane Eyre : d'après le roman de Charlotte Brontë" on 'Goodreads'

This book is very good, I can't exactly tell you why though. Perhaps it's because her inner dialogues seem so real as if I'm listening to Anne Frank instead. Or that Charlotte Bronte is way ahead of her time in early feminism. I also don't remember spotting any obvious and eyerolly tropes. Jane Eyre's thought processes were just a pleasure to listen to, especially when read by Thandie Newton!
In some parts of the book I found my focus wavering and I almost lost track of what is going on, but at other parts it was very interesting.
