Survival horror is one of my favourite genres. (I'm a worrywort and the schadenfreude I get from reading about fictional deaths is how I cope I guess.) Lord of the Flies is an exceptional example. Like many critics, I think it's important to remember how class, race, and gender influence the boys' behaviour.
