lol funny genius

Update - I read this again after reading Butterfly in the Typewrite and Neon Bible. I enjoyed it even more the second time because I wasn't concerned with the plot. I was able to appreciate the cast of characters better instead of just focusing on Ignatius. It's just as funny the second time. I can see how a solid edit would have helped, but this is really the only mature work we have from Toole so we should cherish every comic scene.

Update II - 2022 and I read it again. I think this gets better every time. He does a great job with building his set of characters. On the third time I found Mrs. Rielly to be darker and less sympathetic. I was more sympathetic to Myrna and Ignatius. Gotta get out of there!
