This book discusses many aspects of space settlement, from biology and reproduction in space (where we have many unknowns), to where to live, to current and potential future space law and the possibility of wars caused by a rush of colonization.
Interesting throughout, leaving with the conclusion to venture slowly into space. We should test slowly, learn what it takes to create a functional biosphere and keep it running technologically, discover the effects of procreation in space, and create a commons of the cosmos to build lasting peace.

The most recent chapter covers the Amazon basin. Similar to prior chapters, much of the evidence suggests that pre-contact America was much more populous than previously estimated. The people used fire in ways that supported both themselves and enhanced the environment. Charcoal may have even enhanced the Amazon soil semi-permanently!
