The Ned Blackhawk's introduction to The Rediscovery of America is an excellent antidote to the faux history of the season and the facile settler narratives in the AP US History textbooks and classes that I see through my tutoring practice.

I'm excited to read how Blackhawk contributes to "a new theory of American history" that recognizes how "Native people's simultaneously determined colonial economies, settlements, and politics and we're shaped by them." (5)
