V. E. Schwab: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (2020, Tor Books)

A Life No One Will Remember. A Story You Will Never Forget.

France, 1714: …

None

I did not anticipate loving this book so much. I highly enjoyed the characters and how Addie evolved over her centuries of invisible life, until she finally finds someone who can actually remember her, and what a marvellous feeling that is indeed. Meanwhile Luke or the devil she's made the deal with visits her regularly and their connections deepen.
It really made me think about what is the value of life and how sweeping statements or overgeneralisation can be perhaps misinterpreted or taken to the extreme when it is miles away from one's intentions. Similar to the many stories of three wishes and how they backfire. Have you even existed if no-one can remember you? What is the impact you can have on life?
Fascinating.
