She loses most of the money and end up escaping to learn about the ritual that must be performed in a timely fashion to bring back magic. Meanwhile, her adversary, the princess' brother, is tracking them down and then falls in love with Zélie. Her brother and the princess share also love, but he finds Zélie traitorous for siding with the man/boy, who wanted to do anything to stop there being magic, which according to his father, was the cause of much chaos previously. So, fighting, love, drama, relationships, and magic. All of it.
