Yes, the plot was interesting and bringing so many seemingly random events together, but it still continues along the very same lines, and another woman in his life who is more amazing than any of the other ones he's been with. Very cheesy love story in that sense.
To me the books are just a bit too much, too incredible. Easy entertainment in a way.
