I can't deny that the writing is of high quality. But high quality garbage is still garbage. All of the characters are horrible people, completely disconnected from reality. As I went on in this book, no morality emerged, and I started to realize that Fitzgerald wrote his characters this way, because that's how he is. This collection is the worst collection of books I have ever read. Usually I like the classics. This is not one of those times.
