Michael Moorcock: THE SINGING CITADEL (1970, Berkley Books)

Review of 'THE SINGING CITADEL' on 'Goodreads'

This (also published as "The Dream of Earl Aubec") was the first story by Michael Moorcock I've read, and I think it serves very well as an introduction to his body of work, particularly his style and his conception of Law and Chaos. It's also specifically an introduction to the world of his most popular character, Elric of Melniboné, though set centuries in the past of Elric's world.
