You'd think I'd have learned my lesson after giving up on Lord Foul's Bane, but years later when I saw this book I decided to give Donaldson a second chance. After all, he'd been writing best sellers for years, so maybe I'd missed something?

I did manage to finish this book, but I wish I hadn't. It's simply another look at humanity at its worst. I can get that from the news, I look to more from my fiction.
