Almost didn't finish. It was thát bad. Please, dear authors, if you want to 'republish' your previous self-published material, by all that's good and real... hire a beep editor. One who is actually critical on the story and the plot and the writing style. Consider your self-published stuff to be a first draft and work from there.
Because... this was awful. Yes, Dennis' storytelling is already there, it shines through the muck.
The writing is sexist (yes he tries to create 'strong women', but fails miserably, the story is Pratchett & Baxter's Long Earth-fanfic. It has plotholes the size of er, well a very large dinosaur.

Still, there was the potential for a story, that's why I finished the book. I really hope the sequels will be current writing work, not rehashed crappy old writing.
