What we have here is a failure to edit!

One of the most tedious books I've ever read, makes me wonder if Mr Man Booker actually reads this nonsense. The writing is all over the place, back and forth and repeating bits and repeating bits. At times I started to get angry that I was having to read things from the point of view of somebody who had nothing to give to the story. It felt like the author was only interested in getting up his page count and had very little interest in the story. It's not all bad though, the author seems to wake up during scenes of violence, as somebody is getting tortured or there is a shoot-out he suddenly develops a bit of passion and gets a few good pages out... unless I'm just really dark and a bit violent.... In fact its a bit like a shit movie that bumbles along boring yer pants off and suddenly a little bit of action wakes you up before you drift off again.

I have very little knowledge of Jamaican dialects but it does feel authentic and man those Jamaicans need to get them some decent swear words, I'd get shot straight away if I was called one of the things named in this book, I'd end up giggling. Ha you'll now have to read this just to find them out.

If this book had a tough editor and a bit of a tidy then maybe, just maybe it could be made into something.

Warning, this book contains lots of swearing, sex and violence, so make sure your kids have had plenty of sugar before you let them loose on this book.
