Some creepy writing by Stephen King, it's been a while since I read this book, but I do remember the characters were not too shabby. I had already seen the film a few times so I couldn't help but compare, this was in the days before I figured out it was best to read the book before seeing the movie.

The book is violent and gross at times and the build-up to the action is gripping, it can really get your pulse going at times. I've not read the sequel yet but I'll probably re-read this one as a recap before I start it.
