Anne Rice is the master when it comes to vampires, I haven't found anybody who is better.

In this book in the series we get to hear the life of Marius de Romans one of the "children of the Millennia". He has featured in many of the other books and always seems to have "those who must be kept" with him.

This book covers his origin, life with Pandora, Mael, Armand and Bianca.

I have always thought that Marius was such a strong character in the other books and he has always been one of my favourites, after reading this you realise he has his faults and can be as fragile as anybody else.

Really enjoyed this book and now I need to make myself wait until I read the next book, I gotta try and make these books last.
