I'm still unclear as to what I really thought about this. I thought the writing was done well and the story was compelling, but I never felt overly connected to any of the characters aside from Kvothe. For being considered "epic fiction," it seemed like there should have been more...something. That being said, I did really enjoy it.

Edit/Update : I enjoyed this much more on a re-read. I still wish some of the connections had been reestablished (especially with Abenthy), but perhaps that's in the sequel. Kvothe, the younger Kvothe, continues to annoy me ;-)
