A novel in verse about a young boy watching his football star father struggle with brain injuries sustained from his job. There is no real resolution or happy ending to this book, which would make it brutal for some children I would imagine. However, it ends with hope - the hope that someday we'll figure out a way to treat brain injuries (this book took place in the 1990s). This book destroyed me. I sobbed.
