The scope of this is amazing, but at times I felt the execution was a little bit off. And the thing where he switches to an entirely different story with different characters for a little while near the end was quite confusing/irritating. OTOH, I still enjoy Stephenson's stuff a lot more than most authors, so I found myself enjoying the heck out of it, while thinking of things he could have improved it so overall I am calling it a win.
