Jonathan M. Metzl: Dying of Whiteness (Hardcover, 2019, Basic Books)

Good read. Lots of research with lots of graphs.

Focuses on three states and how gun, healthcare and education policies and laws also affect white people when they believe they’re being introduced to “help” them.

Poor state of affairs. And this book was published years ago and does not take into account the current state of things.

Poor USA.

@hankg Hi there. I need an objective opinion on this. I haven’t read it, but husband has read the books, watched the series, listened to the podcasts. And if they came out with a line of socks and jocks, he’d be wearing them too.

Oh god. I hope there isn’t a line of clothing. 😅

Great read all round. Got a great history lesson.

But I could have done without the tree being the narrator.
