I read “Get Into Trouble” just before this and the stories are written in the same style, ordinary happenings infused with magical realism. They’re entertaining to read, but I always feel like I’m missing the larger point. In particular, “Skinder’s Veil” seemed like the ending was supposed to have a meaning that eluded me. I enjoyed reading this collection, but I’m not sure I would recommend it.
