I'd always disliked Sheryl Sandberg because of "Lean In," but as someone whose experience of traumatic loss is now 10+ years behind me, I think she has at least partially redeemed herself with this book on the subject. Written 2 years after her husband died suddenly and unexpectedly, this part memoir-part essay addresses how she was able to experience personal growth and build resilience against future losses, which are an inevitable part of life. Her personal experience is coupled with research from psychological studies and profiles of survivors, and includes practical advice like seeking out support groups and participating in new activities. It's not just for the grieving but for anyone who wants to build resilience in everyday life.
