If you're weirdly fascinated by Scientology, as I am, and have read "Going Clear" and other books on the topic, this one by David Miscavige's father is an interesting perspective -- but it shouldn't be anyone's entry point to reading about Scientology. Because the author is in his 80s, the authorial voice is that of gramps recounting stories from the old days ("Holy smokes!" is used more than once) and the storytelling is very flat. He purports to be unemotionally relating facts in his attempts to explain psychological motivations for his son's behavior, but his account is clearly colored by their relationship, and he spends a lot of time working old grudges. However, if you've read other books on Scientology, this is an entertaining addition to the pile.
