I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as evidenced by the fact that I tore through the entire omnibus in 4 days. David's writing is concise and engaging, and his characters have a diversity of backgrounds and personalities that Hollywood would do well to learn from. Though several of the plot points are rather predictable, the turnaround on them is relatively quick, and they never seem to bog down the plot for long. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a number of protagonists who aren't hilariously dysfunctional (not yet, at least) which makes for a very refreshing change from a lot of modern pop culture.

It was an entertaining and engaging read, and I'm looking forward to picking up more in the series.
