Sci-fi/fantasy writer and artist. I love cyberpunk, vaporwave, anime, and others. Writing stories that reflect and critique the real world, while trying to spread good messages and create diverse characters. Hoping to write light novels that'll get anime one day. 🙏

Charming Read

My first light novel~. :D While I tire of the isekai genre, I think it's done in a pretty unique way here. It's much more chill and comfy, even funny at times, than the usual heroic isekais. Myne is quite the relatable main character, as a clever yet clumsy and introverted bookworm. It was easy to sympathize with her struggles as she does everything she can to create what she loves - books!

Mixed Bag

I feel that the first story arc was strongest. Of course the first scenes with Joker were the highlight, but Dollmaker was intriguing as well. The story arc with Penguin felt weak compared to the others and Bruce's love interest is kind of just there to be rescued and ogled at. All female characters (except a child) were sexualized which was a distraction. But I enjoyed at least part of it.

(I actually started reading this months ago sfawafw. But I don't know when.) Pretty cute and comfy read. A nice palate cleanser after reading darker things. Funny, too. It's easy to feel Myne's frustration as she keeps trying to make books for herself to enjoy in a world where such luxuries are rare.
