Lacan has some interesting ideas, but some of his understanding of how the mind works is clearly dated and heavily predicated on the work of Freud, making it both difficult to access (even in this much simplified presentation) and somewhat distant from a scientific understanding of the mind. Nevertheless, this book provides much to think about.
