I love the concepts - both the deeply buried and the overt - in this novel, and the voice of the narrator is convincing and disturbing at the same time. It loses a single star only because that effective portrayal demonstrates the mental degradation caused by society and technology convincingly enough to be annoying for any erudite reader.
