Jen Williams: A Dark and Secret Place (Hardcover, 2021, Crooked Lane Books)

Review of 'A Dark and Secret Place' on 'Goodreads'

On the plus side, it was easy to finish and had marks of good storytelling. There were some genuinely creepy parts and it was fun to read. However, it had a cliche or two and I found some of it either predictable (the father part) or unlikely (the baby sacrificing/supernatural wolf theme). Also, the serial killer, Michael, was almost a parody with his dark fairy tales and his brooding ways. I felt like I was reading a hodgepodge of true crime which was okay. This story perhaps belongs by a campfire rather than in a novel.
