Molly Foust reviewed Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

A wife disappears, and everyone knows the husband did it, or did he? With a hook like that and pretty rotten characters you wouldn't think this book would be such a page-turner, but I stayed up late to finish it I confess.
Why? It is LOL funny sometimes, even when it might possibly be serious. If read in an ironic mood, the whole book could be called a comedy.
One difficulty with this book is that the characters are not likable, whether they are being themselves or not. But if I had to have a favorite, it would be Bitch Amy. Overall, this was super entertaining, and I am glad it was our book club selection for the month, because it will give rise to plenty of fun gender role conversations.
