Molly Foust reviewed A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2)
Review of 'A Clash of Kings' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
I am continuing to stay up all night reading this series, and it is completely engrossing. Though sometimes I have to sigh heavily and wish Mr. R.R. Martin could be just a wee bit less graphic. People are constantly getting their guts ripped out, murdering small children, gang raping women- it makes for a dark, riveting fantasy, but it makes me think, if the entire 7 kingdoms are finally destroyed by wights, would it really be so bad? What a bunch of women-hating, blood-drunk jackasses these guys are...the Kushiel's Dart series is plenty graphic, but never gave me a sick, heavy feeling. Still, moving on to book 3 very soon, and this series is taking on all the charm of a real-life addiction.
