I have to say that this book was a huge surprise, for me. The story started in a manner that had me thinking it might be headed towards being a bit of science-fiction tale. But in the end, what I encountered was a moving (touching) story of love, friendship and mysticism. I am not normally inclined towards the chick-novel genre but this book is truly a wonderful read. It makes the world seem a little more hopeful even as we encounter and cope with pain.
