I enjoyed the basic tale although I found the addition of a "flashback story" superfluous and of very little value. I assume the newly revealed back story will appear later in the series, but its introduction in this tale seemed contrived. In my opinion, Louise's first Gamache mystery was far superior. The bottom line is that this was a fairly commonplace, interesting "enough" mystery.
