OMG, the sisters swapping spells all sorts of trouble. I can see things going so terribly wrong when Charlie first voiced the idea.
And I wasn't wrong!
This is a cute Christmas story that will have you doing anything from rolling your eyes to crying at parts. Well, it did for me anyways.
I was afraid that once the swap happened between the sisters that everything would get boring and Cass would solve Charlie's annoying Austin problems and Charlie would finally get Bret to see that he needs to get a clue by four, but in the nice nothing's happening here way. Whew, boy was I happy to see that trouble happened from day one of the swap!
With the first disaster I was so thinking, well hell, that swap didn't last long, they'll get discovered before the day even gets started good. Whooops, bad time to fall asleep there …

For me I enjoyed it more when the story was focused on Cass, there was just a bit more action going on there. There's a bit more character interaction and more of the amusing, how do I get out of this jam moments.
Sour dough starter face mask?
When it's focused on Cass this is when the narrator Stephanie Cannon could portray more of the different people involved. I think she does a good job of showing how much of a pain in the arse Austin is as well as annoying! I absolutely love the, Oh My God, the world is ending dramatic tone or bubbly, make you want to tie her to a chair tone that she gives Piah.
Here's a slight spoiler.
I had to chuckle when finally Austin got what was coming to him while they were on camera. The poor thing just couldn't rise to the occasion!
If you want to see what that's about and what happens for the 12 days before Christmas then go get the book. It's a light read, but still amusing in parts. Remember if you are a softy as well, get some tissues!

Note:
I read the audiobook format of this book, so my review is based from that.
Well, here goes and my apologies to the author in advance.
This story was just beyond words and not of the take my breath away kind. It's more like the I'm speechless because I have no idea what to say regarding this book.
Spoiler moment:
The plot of this story was just so unbelievable in so many ways. Like seriously, your ass is unconscious and buried in sand, so how are you going to all of a sudden get up and be able to stock the people that hurt you. Like I get some stories have some, WTH, moments that leave you shaking your head or wondering what the heck will happen next, but things just get worse from here.

Now granted there are some that definitely like this story, but I definitely am not one of them and here's why.
Who in their right mind would go along with this set up that the dead, but not dead guy comes up with? When he finally confronts his killers you think he'd ask for something that makes sense, right?
Nope, wrong answer! He gives them no choice but to go along with this messed up plan of his. And, and, to make matters even more screwed up Cynthia starts to feel sorry for the dead, but not dead guy!
I'll stop there because I don't want to throw in too many spoilers because then you may hate me for doing so, smiles. Who knows, you may end up being one that likes this story.
A good thing about The Drive By Wife is the narrator Mark Torres. He has a great reading voice for this book and that's what held my attention and kept me reading until the end to see how things turned out. This is one of those cases where the narrator drives the book.
In fact, I think Mark Torres would have been another great narrator for Mike's other book that I reviewed called Baby Talk.
Note 2:
I'm not sure how this look in print format but I believe the audio one is all of the books in this series. Some reviews I read said that this was a series and the books were very short, but I didn't find that with the audio format. Just something to be aware of in case you decide to check out this book and get the print or EBook format.
Well, onto my next read. Maybe one day I'll catch a Mike Wells book that catches my attention, smiles.

I'm in a holiday mood, so let's check out this halloween story shall we?
Haunted House Ghost is the 5th book in the Braxton Campus Mysteries, but my first time reading this author. The description caught my attention and I just couldn't resist!
Wow, what a cast of characters. This is definitely one crazy town that had me shaking my head one moment and then laughing out loud the next at the crazy ideas they come up with. Like you have murder, a haunted house, maybe, stalled relationships with speculations and twists and turns going all over the place. so much so that keeping up will make your head spin!
Kellen absolutely amuses me. One second he's sure that a person can't be the murder because they just don't look like they could hurt a fly. The next second he's like, oh wait, they could be tricking me, are they …

Kellen absolutely amuses me. One second he's sure that a person can't be the murder because they just don't look like they could hurt a fly. The next second he's like, oh wait, they could be tricking me, are they my stalker? Maybe they are haunting my house and trying to stop me from moving in. Kellen also reminds me of those scary movies at times when you know the person should not go in some dark area alone and you have the scary music playing because something bad could happen and you just know the character is going to do it anyways. Yep, that's Kellen! Ha, he also does it more than once!
I read the audio version of this book and it was pretty good. The narrator Daniel Adam Day has a good voice for this book, but could have been a bit better. What draws away from the story is when he tries to do the voice of any of the female characters. Sorry, no, that sadly doesn't work very well. Some of the guy characters are ok, but I think it would have been a better read just done in a normal voice for all characters with that slight change to show the emotions of each person depending on the situation and location. That's the only reason you didn't get a 5 Mr. Cudney. Of course this didn't stop me from reading because as I said, Daniel Adam Day does do a good job reading and the plot was just loads of fun! I have plans on going back to start the series over to learn about these crazy characters.
It does look like for the other books in the series that James J. Cudney has a different narrator for each book. So onward and lets see how the others are!

Apples, apples, apples. There are some really tasty sounding recipes in this story. Even for the dogs! However, I think Piper and Missy should not get any for failing doggy training.
Then again, maybe Emory should take them to a better trainer than that very expensive horrible one they attended by Shawn who believes in a firm hand and maybe even some aggressiveness in the dogs to show who's boss.
This is book 5 in the Cupcake Catering Mystery series and Emory has stumbled across another body. However, the first body is not who I thought it would be. I was thinking Shawn would be the first killed due to how horrible his training services were and how much he refused interaction with those in his puppy classes. But instead it ended up being Shawn's mom Eloise the president of the condo association and a total bitch!

Before you could really sink your teeth in and try to figure out whom the most likely person could be another murder happens and you got to start your list all over again. Oops, guess it wasn't that person after all.
For me this one went a bit fast with the plot and nothing that I can recall led up to even the slightest hints of who the killers were. But, it was still a great read and I can't wait for the next one.
However, before I get to the next one I finally, finally will get around to the first book that is now in audio format!

My review is based off the audio version. I highly recommend checking out this series in audio format if you haven't yet!
This one was absolutely great! I enjoyed it a lot more than I did the first book. Spies, betrayals and new friendships!
Umlac's Legacy is full of action that will have you at the edge of your seat one moment then letting out a sigh of relief the next. Ha, just to have you biting your nails wondering how the hell did that happen all over again!
Sadly there's another blasted Dasypod that I wanted to strangle. I thought Ironside was bad, but oh no, this one had to be worse and his name is Silver Streak. Just OMG! Stick him in a closet somewhere. Ok, well Jade did try to keep him out of her hair, but sadly that didn't work so well. He definitely caused her some problems and at the absolute worse moment too.
Seriously, something needs to be done about Jade and her sexual feelings for Kiolo. She gets so easily distracted either by him or his likeness and it throws her off her stride for a few. Put them in the first space closet or something and let them have at it for a few hours.
Once again one of my favorites and friend AC Oliver is the narrator and does one hell of a job! I found it amusing listening to the different variations of
Jade, Shoggart Slayer! Umlac's Rightful Heir,Submit to me or Die!
My guess is while Jade was trying to figure out what best to say when taking over a planet, AC Oliver was trying to figure out which voice best fits?
Hmm, in my opinion the one that's just below your creepy kick ass voice fits best for that phrase and not the breathy one, smiles.
Of course that could all change with the next book because Jade could decide to add more to her take over the world phrase. For example,
Jade, Shoggart Slayer! Umlac's Rightful Heir,Submit to me or Die 1,000 Bites!
Another thing that caught my attention this book was that one of the voices for Horgrams war people sounds sooooo familiar, rangerlike that it drives me crazy every time I hear it because I can't narrow down who it reminds me of, lol.
Anyways, looking forward to book 3 where there will be another annoying dasypod so I've been told. Where's my rope!

My review is regarding the audio version.
If you are into hard sci-fi then you should definitely check out this first book in the Entangled Galaxy series!
This is a fast pace action book that will have you wanting to continue reading just to see what happens next. It does jump around but that's because action is happening in several different locations, so watch out for that. I did get lost a few times. If you thought male chauvinist were bad wait until you hear the different species going at each other. The plant one, sorry, I'm not even going to try and spell the names from this story, ha, really made me want to reach through the book and strangle them.

I would have liked to see more of Jade and the plant thing interact and establish who had the power more. One moment Jade was the boss and she was comfortable, then she was stepping back because the plant thing was more assertive. If Jade was suppose to lead the crew, then again in my opinion have her step up always and not waffle. Put the plant thing in its place from the start.
One part I thought could be better.
If romance was going to be in the story then I think it would have been better showing up sooner and not just thrown in there near the end of the story. To me that seemed kind of, hmm, let's do something with these two and make it quick. It didn't seem real or believable to me. Just something to fill the last few pages of the book, you know?
A narrator plays a huge part in audio books. They can make or break a good book and this my friends is a good book with a great narrator who has gotten better which each new book he has performed. I mention this because of the different characters, plots and action going on everywhere you need a narrator that will keep you wanting to listen. Someone that will draw you into the story even if it's not your type of book. So thank you Jim for picking such a great person to perform this book.
In my opinion this is the second best narration by AC Oliver! He does an awesome job at making each character unique and with their own voice and tone Including my favorite, his creepy sounding don't mess with me voice. I knew the moment I heard that voice in the first few sentences of listening that I wouldn't be able to put the book on hold, lol. So I had to read this story when I didn't have work the next days, meaning, over the weekend. What I also noticed was that AC Oliver for some of the voices have the auditorium sounding effect and that brings another cool element into the story.
I received a free copy of this book from the narrator and the review is given freely and my true opinions.
